AUVSI Announces New Members of Board of Directors

The Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) announced the election of new leadership and members to its Board of Directors

The Board of Directors of the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) announced that Michael Robbins is the association’s new President and CEO.

The Commercial Drone Alliance (CDA) and the Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) have released a reference document providing guidance to the commercial drone industry on staying compliant with the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) UAS Remote Identification Rule.

The law, which was supported by AUVSI, codifies the rights of commercial and recreational drone operators, reaffirms the authority of the FAA over air navigation and aviation safety issues, and prevents the future adoption of unnecessary laws that specifically target drone technology.

On February 8, the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation passed the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Reauthorization Act of 2023 by a voice vote. The bipartisan legislation reauthorizes the FAA for the next five years. Passage of the bill follows the House’s passage of their FAA reauthorization bill, the Securing Growth and Robust Leadership in American Aviation Act in July 2023.

Airports Council and AUVSI on February 8 welcomed the release of the final report issued by the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) Detection and Mitigating Systems Aviation Rulemaking Committee (ARC).

The Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) announced the hiring of new staff and internal promotions. The personnel moves support the association’s mission to foster the growth, long-term viability, and stability of the uncrewed systems industry.

The Association for Uncrewed Vehicle Systems International (AUVSI) commends Congress for sending the FY 2024 National Defense Authorization Act to President Biden’s desk for signature, which includes the American Security Drone Act (ASDA).

AUVSI announced the launch of “AAM Prepared,” a multi-state initiative supported by Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) industry leaders and manufacturers to help states and localities prepare for for the future of advanced air transportation.
